__Does It Really Matter? (Homework Policy)__“Teaching does not cause learning. Successful attempts by the learner to learn and use what they have learned to achieve a goal causes learning.” ~ author unknown

Homework assignments are designed to empower you to master mathematical/algebraic concepts. It is imperative to complete homework

*daily*, because math is inherently cumulative. You need to comprehend prerequisite concepts in order to succeed as the material becomes more rigorous.

You are expected to attend a tutorial if you do not understand a question or an assignment. If you cannot attend, you need to work with a parent, a sibling, a friend or a tutor. Frequent checkups and other formative assessments will hold you accountable for “small bites” as we work toward the unit test. There is a strong, positive correlation between amount of homework completed and assessment grades (checkups, quizzes, & tests).

As per the retesting policy, you may retest

**In other words, only students who complete & correct homework assignments have the privilege of retesting.**

__only after turning in all homework assignments for a unit, complete and correct, in chronological order, the day after your graded test is returned to you__.
